I happened to find I.W. Harper 15-Year the other night at a restaurant and of course had to give it a whirl since I had not yet been able to find a bottle in the liquor store. While it was a good Bourbon, I don’t believe I will be purchasing a bottle. The flavor and aroma were not offensive, but were such a strong sandalwood character it didn’t trip my trigger. Other characteristics were leather, caramel, and tobacco, but the sandalwood trumped them all. I’ve been guessing the price of admission will be about a hundred bucks and the reality is I’ll be saving my money for something else.
